Domain names are an important part of any business.
Domain names are registered in New Zealand through DOMAINZ - The New Zealand Internet Registry Ltd who is the accredited .nz domain name service provider.
There are currently 15 2LDs in New Zealand, and six of these are moderated, that is, they have a restricted usage whereby proposed doman anme are scrutinised for their suitability by a moderator appointed by the Doman Name Commissioner. Currently the following 2LDs are moderated: .govt.nz; .mil.nz; .cri.nz; .iwi.nz; .parliament.nz; and .health.nz.

Domain name disputes are now subject to the Domain Name Commissioner's Dispute Resolution process.
