D is for Directors


We are very pleased to announce that as of 29 March 2018, David Moore and David Nowak are now directors of Henry Hughes Intellectual Property.


David Moore is an experienced trade mark practitioner having sandwiched time working in Australia and the Middle East between two periods at Henry Hughes.

David’s experience includes a wide range of intellectual property and trade mark matters, covering the full spectrum from filing strategy, to contentious matters and assignments. David sits on the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand’s Technical Focus Group for Trade Marks, ensuring he is on the pulse of trade marks practice in New Zealand.

His experience and expertise is also acknowledged by his inclusion in the World Trademark Review 1000 since 2011. David is described in the 2014 edition as "diligent and proactive" and in the 2018 edition as "the man to turn to for an international perspective".

David Nowak leads the Life Sciences practice of Henry Hughes and has over 10 years’ experience in intellectual property, specialising in New Zealand and Australian patent law.

David provides advice to a range of local and international clients on all aspects of the patent process in New Zealand and Australia, including filing strategies, drafting, prosecution and contentious matters.

David is considered an authoritative source on the New Zealand Patents Act 2013 and accompanying Regulations and sits on the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand’s Technical Focus Group for Patents, providing valuable insight and input into the New Zealand patent landscape. He is also an expert on patentable subject matter in the life sciences in both Australia and New Zealand having presented on this subject at local and international conferences.
