Taking a moment to celebrate Henry Hughes
As the end of the year approaches, we’d like to acknowledge the successes that 2023 has brought for Henry Hughes IP, which would not have been possible without our clients. We would also like to note our client’s successes this year, whether that be awards of their own or new business developments.
The trade mark team has had a number of successes this year. WTR1000 acknowledged the firm’s strengths in prosecution and strategy, whilst naming directors Elena Szentiványi and David Moore for their contributions in enforcement and litigation, and prosecution and strategy respectively. Henry Hughes was later commended by Managing IP for our abilities in trade mark prosecution and disputes, being shortlisted for New Zealand Firm of the Year. In particular, Managing IP recognised David as a practitioner of the year for the New Zealand region.
The patents team has also earnt multiple recognitions for their work, with I AM Patent 1000 deeming Henry Hughes a ‘recommended firm for prosecution’, and highlighting Frank Callus and David Nowak’s contributions to the practice. Managing IP acknowledged the firm’s capacity for both patent prosecution and disputes, while naming Jesse Strafford as a Rising Star and David Nowak as a Patent Star for 2023.
The Asia IP Patent Survey 2023 commended the firm in its ‘patent prosecution’ and ‘patent contentious’ categories, while the Patent Lawyer Magazine Firm Rankings recognised Henry Hughes as one of the ‘Top 10 Patent Firms of New Zealand’.
As recent as November, Henry Hughes was deemed an excellence awardee for the ‘IP Firm of the Year’ category by the New Zealand Law Awards.
A number of awards are embargoed until the new year, and we look forward to sharing the results with you then.
