Henry Hughes First Quarter Successes

The beginning of 2024 has showcased what we forecast for the rest of the year, with a number of awards recognising Henry Hughes and notable individuals for their work.

WTR 1000 firm and David and Elena

The World Trademark Review 1000 (WTR) has released its rankings in February, recognising Henry Hughes IP at both a firm and individual level. Earning silver for 'prosecution and strategy' and bronze for 'enforcement and litigation', the firm has been described as one with "immense experience and incredibly high standards. The team invariably provides excellent and well-informed service".

Director's David Moore and Elena Szentivanyi have earnt individual recognition in the 'prosecution and strategy' and 'enforcement and litigation' categories respectively. David has been commended for the strategic advice he provides to his clients, bolstered by his specialisation in in non-contentious protection and commercialisation. WTR made special mention of Elena’s ability to use her “in-depth knowledge and understanding of a wide range of IP legal and practical issues” to proactively deal with enforcement matters.

NZ Lawyer Rising Star Jesse

Jesse Strafford has proven his ability as a young and extremely capable member of the Henry Hughes team. We are pleased to see this recognised at a higher level by NZ Lawyer, who deemed Jesse a ‘Rising Star’ for 2024.

This award aims to showcase the top young lawyers in New Zealand, highlighting "their clear potential to make a significant, long-lasting impact".

Criteria taken into account included: outstanding client service, leadership within their firms, deep knowledge and legal expertise, contributing to the legal community, and strong work and professional ethics.

Thank you to our clients and contacts for your support in achieving these awards. We look forward to this trend continuing.
